Rodeo Drive is an iconic location in Beverly Hills, California and LVMH are looking to capitalise on that.
The French luxury conglomerate already has its sights on a location — the corner of Rodeo Drive and Little Santa Monica Boulevard. The posh 115-room hotel is part of the Cheval Blanc collection, which already has five hotels under its name. This will also be the first American location for the brand.
It will be looking to contest with other high-end hotels in the area, mainly the Beverly Wilshere and the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel. The hotel will have oversized suites, a private club, as well as two swimming pools — one of which will be for the penthouse. Peter Marino is the star architect for the project, who had already worked with LVMH in past projects. This includes both the LV and Dior boutiques along Rodeo Drive.
However, do not expect this to be your regular, run-of-the-mill five-star hotel. Given its location, LVMH will be ensuring that the hotel looks the part on Rodeo Drive, known for its high-class and exclusive clientele.
Given the current situation of the global Covid-19 pandemic, don’t expect Cheval Blanc’s April 2020 hotel opening at LVMH’s La Samaritaine Complex to open anytime soon — it’s slated to open in 2025. But if you’re heading to Mayfair, London in the next two years, you can expect to see the first Cheval Blanc hotel in the UK.
